Johnny D began his rap career officially at the age of 17, performing at open mics and clubs in the Bay Area. Well known for his lyricism and quick delivery, he soon established himself locally as a prominent hip hop artist. Johnny D released his first hip-hop album in 2011, Train of Thought, followed by two experimental mixtapes Finest Hour (2012), and Till The Sky Falls in 2013. Major artists and press began to notice his efforts in 2014 when he collaborated with Shady Records artist Royce da 5'9" on his single "Frozen Over". The song received the attention of the press including rap publication HipHopDX. During this time, Johnny D also began to break into the industry in the underground cypher series, TeamBackPack, as a finalist in Los Angeles. Johnny D has an unannounced album expected for release sometime in end 2014.
