Description
600 FEET DOWN
Being buried 6 feet down wasn’t deep enough so I went for 600. If you were a coal miner, deep underground, and the ceiling collapsed trapping you, what message would you scrawl on the paper in your pocket, as your headlamp dimmed and life ticked away.
LYRICS:
My day began, excavating coal
The roof collapsed, deep in a hole
I’m in the dark, way underground
Minutes to live, nary a sound
Trapped underground, 600 feet down
Nobody around, hears my dying sound
My legs are crushed, I’m going to die
I saw my blood gush, I’m barely alive
I loved my wife, may my kids be strong
We were so happy, becoming a miner was wrong
Trapped underground, 600 feet down
Nobody around, hears my dying sound
Earths rocky womb, 600 foot tomb
A dynamite boom, sealed my doom
